4B had a makeover today thanks to Mr C and the Curly One and a tonne of decorative bark. Mr C had finished putting wooden edges on the beds on 4B last night so I’m sure you’ll agree there’s been a huge transformation on the plot we took over in September 2015.
My meadow strip is finally growing by the lane. Proud of the foxgloves that I grew over the winter that are planted in the meadow.
My mum, with some help from Mr C, weeded a huge area on 5B… Damn that rye grass and dock leaves! Some more bark on the ground and voila!! Looking good!
Lovely to sit on 5B and watch everything grow.
More weeding to be done on 5B, luckily it’s a long bank holiday weekend.
I planted onion sets in the autumn as well as some the other week. Unfortunately the autumn ones have gone to seed so we’ve had to harvest them. They’re now laid out in our back garden to dry out ready to use. They’ve not grown very big but will still taste good. Hoping the ones we planted in the spring will do better. It’s all a learning curve and next year I’m going to try grow some onions from seed.
Isn’t this beautiful, my rhododendron that Sam bought me for Mother’s Day when he was one or two years old. It lives in a tub in our back garden and this is the most flowers it’s ever had.
