Wow… I found this little gem of a cafe by googling best cream tea in Burnham On Sea. Despite not being a huge town there were quite a few cafes and this came up top of them all in everything I read.
If you love food, tea, cake and crafting what are you waiting for? If you live near here or are staying in the area it’s well worth the trip!
I chose a pot of Lady Grey Tea and a wholemeal toasted cheese sandwich. A very good toasted cheese sandwich indeed and I’ve eaten a lot over the years. Mr C had a bacon, brie and cranberry toasted pannini with salad and crisps. Another very good sandwich with fresh salad… I hate places that put browning lettuce leaves on a plate and there was none of that at the Crafty Teacup Cafe!
We’d mentioned having a cream tea all day so chose the two scone one. The scones looked like them might be a bit dense and claggy but first looks can be deceiving. They were delicious, we both chose fruit scones and they had a good quantity of fruit. The jam was strawberry but a tasty one, and there was oodles of cream, enough jam and cream so you didn’t need to skimp on your scone to look like you were sharing fairly!
Lots of crafty items for sale, little craft packs to buy and make while you were there and pots of glue around for you to do your sticky jobs. The packs enclosed a shape ie crown, teapot, butterfly and then lots of papers and sparklies to stick on and make it your own! Craft lessons are available and craft parties can book out the room upstairs and the cafe I think.
An amazing little Aladdins Cave of pretties and tasty treats! All served up on mismatched china plates, cups and saucers… I was in heaven!
