We had a lovely time at the Coffee and Cake House in Pudsey for our Clandestine Cake Club on Saturday 19 July 2014.
Eight gorgeous cakes turned up to this lovely new coffee and cake shop in Pudsey.
The cakes that attended were:
Sharon – Blueberry, Elderflower and Lime Bundt
Brenda – Lemon Polenta Cake (gluten free)
Sarah – Chocolate Hakuna Matata Cake
Jessica – ‘Wicked’ Chocolate Cake
With a little bit of coaxing from Mr C, Jessica’s chocolate cottage came out of her bundt tin!
Sam – Mango Sandcastle Cake
Pippa – Pineapple Chiffon Cake
Lucy – Chocolate Fudge Cake (full of Mars Bars and Double Deckers)
Amanda – Raspberry Ripple Layer Cake
We were then treated to a decorating Master Class by The Cake Man.
Our Master Class was showing us how to make letters for use on cakes or other baked items such as cookies.
Using royal icing and piping the outline of a letter of shape then flooding it with a slightly runnier royal icing can create sturdy lettering and shapes that will then peel off greaseproof paper and attach to a cake.
