Calverley is a pretty village between Horsforth and Pudsey, on the border of Leeds and Bradford. It is a very proud village with lots of amazing community events throughout the year.
The Calverley Arms is just off the ring road at the Rodley end of the village.
The outside of the pub has a large beer garden with children’s play area and a nice paved patio area with more seating. Inside is a large dining area and some more informal seating near the bar are. The gardens are lovely with lots of flowers and well cared for shrubs and trees.
This pub has changed over the years and definitely for the better with nice decor, comfy chairs and a relaxed atmosphere.
A good range of real ales on the hand pumps and a lovely menu whether it’s a relaxed Saturday lunch you want, a midweek tea or Sunday lunch.
I’ve enjoyed a fish finger sandwich there on a Saturday lunchtime with my mum in the past few months.
We’ve recently been for Sunday lunch with my parents and there were some amazing platefuls at reasonable prices so highly recommend on a Sunday.
Sunday lunch photos
We’d arrived for lunch at 12noon on a Sunday and luckily they had a table, they recommend that you book for Sunday lunch. Despite our early sitting they had run out of the peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake which was my choice, I decided to have a coffee instead.
The lunch and lightbites menu is a bit confusing in its wording but it is not available after 5pm… believe me as I tried to order a fish finger sandwich after 5pm. We went on a Tuesday at 6pm and they had no fish and chips unless you wanted the sustainably sourced cod loin at an extra £3 per portion.
We ended up ordering two British beef burgers and a Butcher’s choice sausage and mash.
