Cake club weekend always causes excitement for the members of Pudsey & West Leeds Clandestine Cake Club.

It’s time to think up a cake to match the theme and go along to a secret venue to meet up with friends old and new and spend two hours catching up over a slice or ten of cake and a pot of tea or two!

Our theme for March 2014 was ‘School Dinners’…

it was definitely a theme that got everyone thinking with lots of mention of pink custard!

This month it’s the second birthday for Pudsey and West Leeds Clandestine Cake Club…  and this was our 26th event!!

The cakes start to arrive.

Birthday candle, plates and serviettes remind us it’s our second birthday!

Our event was held at The Lounge @ Farsley again and the cakes that attended on the day were:

Pineapple Upside Down Sandwich Cake – Sharon and Mr C

Raspberry Cakewell – Emma

Golden Syrup Cake – Jessica

Jam and Coconut Sponge with Custard – Angie

Semolina and Strawberry Syrup Cake – Michelle

They now serve burgers and chips and are open late Thursday and Friday evenings!

Also the perfect place for a weekend fry up but beware it’s quite often standing room only on a Saturday.

A proper trip down memory lane – chocolate concrete was always a firm favourite – I have baked pineapple upside down cake this weekend at my little ones request.

I’d never baked Pineapple Upside Down cake before and we loved it… hope you and your little one enjoyed it too! The chocolate concrete cake lived up to its name! 🙂
