Crochet Button Necklace

I wanted to make some individual presents for friends last Christmas so I designed this pretty necklace using crochet cotton and buttons.  I used a 2.5mm or 3mm crochet hook.

Measure out a length of crochet cotton at least three times the length of the finished necklace length you want to make.

Chain 20-50, then pull your thread through the last stitch, pull a button onto the thread, pull a knot through after the button. Make a loop and chain 15-20 then add another button as previously.  Keep on going until you’ve got the desired length.  Finish off with a chain 20-50 as per the first section, tie off with a tight knot and cut or tie a bow to finish.

Can also be made as a bracelet.
