Crumble Cake Crunch (Chocolate Tiffin)

This is something that I’ve been making for many, many years, probably since the late 1970’s (is that making me sound old!?)

An easy no bake recipe that can be made by kids of all ages.

We’ve always called it Crumble Cake Crunch but I suppose that you might class it as a tiffin.  It can be made as a nice tasty slice or a deep thick slice depending on what size tin you use.  I used a baking tray rather than a smaller round or square tin, I have to try and eat this in very small pieces as it is very scrummy and hard not to get another piece of.

Recipe

16 oz digestive biscuits (approx 30 biscuits)

4 oz margarine

2 oz sugar

2 tablespoon golden syrup

2 tablespoon cocoa

Chocolate

Method

Put the margarine, sugar, golden syrup and cocoa into a microwaveable bowl (or pan) and melt

Put the digestives into a strong sealable freezer bag, use a rolling pin and gently roll the biscuits until crushed to a small crumb

Poor the crumbs into the melted mixture and mix well until completely combined

Poor into a greased lined baking tin

Melt chocolate in a microwaveable bowl or in a ban marie

Pour the chocolate onto the biscuit mix and leave to set

Leave to cool

Cut into pieces and enjoy!
