September means Autumn and Harvest which means Savoury Clandestine Cake Club..
All the cakes used savoury ingredients, some were completely savoury and others were sweet cakes… not as scary as you think as most of us like carrot cake and don’t event think about the main ingredient!
Our event was held at Coopers in Guiseley and we had 8 cakes attend on the night.
Tomato, Olive, Bacon and Two Cheese Savoury Cake
Cheese, Apple and Walnut Loaf
Lemon, Parsnip and Hazlenut Cake
Courgette and Walnut Tea Bread
Courgette and Caraway Cake
Magic Bean Cake
Savoury Baked Cheesecake
White Chocolate, Raspberry and Butternut Squash Cake
The good thing about a savoury cake club is that you don’t have the usual sugar rush!
It’s a bit like having a three course meal… the most savoury cakes are your main, then you have a slice or two of savoury/sweet cakes, followed by a final course of the sweetest cakes.
Being a cheese lover it’s always nice to have cakes with cheese in them!
Not much cake left to take home!
A huge thank you to those who attended and to Coopers for hosting us!
A venue that’s close to my heart as Mr C and I had our wedding party in the room upstairs and there’s always a good selection of real ales and unusual ciders on the bar, also highly recommend for food and they make a perfect cup of coffee!
